Seattle Area Troll Hunting

A Day Drive To 5 Trolls Across 3 Ferries

Seattle Area Troll Hunting

We chose Manchester State Park as our home base for Troll hunting in Seattle.

From Manchester, we drove north to Bainbridge Island to see Pia the Peacekeeper. Pia is easily accessible at Sakai Park. Just a quick walk from the car.

From there we headed north again and took the Kingston to Edmonds Ferry and then drove south to National Nordic Museum where we caught our views of Frankie Feetsplinter.  Frankie is located directly outside the museum and we were able to find easy parking.

Next we drove south to Bruun Idun- Way of the Bird King. Bruun Idun is located near the pool by the shore line at Lincoln Park in West Seattle. This one was the longest walk- we logged about ¾ of a mile each way.  This walk was a little frustrating because the paths are not well marked. Highly recommend using All Trails or another mapping system to figure out the way out and back.

Next we drove east and over the bridges to Issaquah to see Jakob Two Trees. He is located on the Rainier Trail- just a quick .1 of a mile walk from the parking lot.

Our last troll was located on Vashon Island. We drove back to West Seattle and took the Fauntleroy to Vashon Ferry. From the ferry we drove to Oscar the Bird King which is located just inside the gates at Point Robinson Lighthouse. Access to Oscar is only available from dawn to dusk. We knew we weren’t going to easily make the next ferry from Vashon to Southworth so we decided to stop for dinner in town at Camp Colvos Brewing. The beer selection was delicious and for dinner we tried several of their meat pasties. After dinner we grabbed the ferry over to Southworth and from there it was a quick 15 minutes back to Manchester State Park.
