Tumalo and Double Falls

On a Wednesday afternoon towards the end of July, the parking lot was ridiculously full and we had to park on the road. Once we got on our trail, the crowd thinned out because there are several trails from this area. There is a nice overlook for Tumalo Falls near the parking lot or you can take the quarter mile hike up to some other viewpoints. The first quarter mile is up quite the hill- about 100 feet ascension. The views are amazing and worth the effort.

From Tumalo Falls, we hiked further on to see Double Falls. The next quarter mile or so follows the river with several marked spots with water access.  At about the .7 mark, the trail begins to ascend again. I logged about 1.2 miles to the Double Falls viewpoint. It is amazing and totally worth the hike. The hike back to the parking lot is all downhill and very quick. Overall, I logged approximately 2.25 miles.
