Portland and The Columbia River Gorge

The River and Gorge that Separate Washington and Oregon

The Columbia River Gorge stretches 80 miles and is 4000 feet deep in some areas. It creates part of the border between Oregon and Washington. There are so many waterfalls close to the road and the area is full of recreational opportunities. We only had a weekend but we packed it in! On Friday night we also got a date night in at McMenamins Edgefield. The McMenamins properties are situated throughout the Pacific Northwest and are unique in their repurposing of historic buildings, creating new atmospheres like hotels, restaurants, movie theaters, concert venues and artists nooks. If you visit the Portland, Seattle or anywhere in the PNW, find a McMenamins and give them a try. We love them!
