Mount Tamalpais State Park

Mount Tamalpais is a state park located north of San Francisco and offers an amazing view of the city and bay area from the East Peak of Mount Tam. The drive itself through the state park and up to East Peak is amazing .  From the East Peak parking lot, we jumped on the Summit Trail.  It is only about a third of a mile up to the summit. The path is very steep and incredibly rocky so good shoes and some water are recommended.

There is also a .7 mile accessible path to a lower viewpoint if you prefer.
