Lake Tahoe- Emerald Bay State Park
The Kayak Was the Highlight of Lake Tahoe
We started our day hiking the Upper Eagle Falls trail. This is a super short hike with about 100’ elevation changes. We also walked across the road to see the top of Lower Eagle Falls. Next we drove to the Vikingsholm Parking lot of Emerald Bay State Park. This part of the hike is no joke. We walked 500+ feet down to the lake level. From there we rented a two person kayak for $50 and enjoyed kayaking out to Fannette Island Tea House. We then hiked the rest of the way to the viewing point of Lower Eagle Falls. The hike back up to the parking lot on the ridge is tough but very doable for young and old alike. This was a great day and a highlight of our time in Lake Tahoe. Our overall day was about 5.2 miles with 700 elevation changes.
