Wellesley Island State Park

When we first booked Wellesley Island State Park, I was mainly looking for a stop inbetween the Adirondack's and The Finger Lake Region of New York. It was later that I realized that we were going to have a unique opportunity to explore one of Canada's National Parks! Thousand Islands National Park runs along the St. Lawrence River inbetween Canada and The United States.

We took our boat tour from the US side with Clayton Island Tours. The tour was approximately 1/2 day and included several hours boating through the islands as well as a stop at Boldt Castle.

The state park itself is beautiful. Our site had electric and the community water source was right in front of our campsite and close enough that we could run our hose and fill up as needed. We backed right up to the river and had amazing sunsets out our back window every night.
