Our 2026 Travel Plans

As we looked at our US map we saw that there was a huge blank space. The Mid Atlantic and New England! Although we have done some road trips by car and we did a few really great trips with the kids when they were little, we have not taken our fifth wheel that far up the east coast, nor have we really spent the kind of time exploring that we would like to do. We also wanted to be just a little closer to family this year than we have been in the past. And so, our 2026 travel plans began to take shape.

At 43 feet long, we know that to get into some of the places that we really want to see we need to book ahead. We have found that a lot of state parks will have a few spots that will accommodate a fifth wheel our size, but they are few and far between. And if you also want sewer connections- well that is like finding a needle in a haystack. All of that being said, we made our wish list and started booking as soon as things became available.

Because we like the warm weather and sunshine, we plan on spending the winter months in our home state of Florida! Once the weather warms up a bit we will head north to our family in Georgia before taking off on our 2026 adventure!

The Mid Atlantic and New England have some of the most iconic areas in the United States. Here are just a few things that we are excited to see in 2026:

First Landing State Park- One of the most popular state parks in Virginia! The park is near the site of the first landing of English colonists in 1607.

Assateague Island- Located along the eastern seaboard, Assateague Island is home to wild horses.

Philadelphia- I’ve never been!

Ricketts Glen State Park- 22 waterfalls in a 7 mile loop!

Iconic Mountain Ranges including- The Poconos, The Catskills, The Adirondacks, The White Mountains, The Green Mountains, Lake Placid and The Finger Lakes!

Boston- Another city that I’ve never been to!

Connecticut and Rhode Island- we have a few places saved on our maps but we will truly just be explorers in this area.

The Danbo Trolls in New England. There are some in New Jersey, Rhode Island and Maine that we are excited to see.

Acadia National Park- we’ve been briefly but sometimes you need a do-over in life and this is our chance to really take some time and enjoy this park.

And hopefully the 2026 New England leaf peeping season!

Are there things in these areas that we shouldn’t miss? Send us a message with your best places to go, things to see or places to eat!

We hope to see many of you on the road!
